Among those signing were the United States of America, of which Franklin Roosevelt was President, and Mexico, who&#8217;s leader was L \u00e1 zaro Cardanes.<\/p>\n<p>IN 1936 the Banner was accepted by 21 American countries. In 1937, the Roerich Pact was ratified by all the nations that made up the League of Nations \u0097 the precursor to the United Nations.<\/p>\n<p>Its creator was the noted artist, Nicholas Konstant \u00ed n Roerich, nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.<\/p>\n<p>The emblem on the Banner \u0097 which has existed for 9,000 years in human history, since the Paleolithic era \u0097 is made of three spheres forming a triangle with it &#8216; s vertex pointing upward, and colored magenta on a white background. It symbolizes Science, Spirituality, and Art, all united within the circle of Culture, <a id=\"_GoBack\" name=\"_GoBack\"><\/a> and Thoughts, Words and actions in harmony to achieve interior Peace to spread all over the Planet.<\/p>\n<p>At this critical time for our Planet, the Roerich Pact speaks to all consciousness, urging us to live Unified in Diversity in order to achieve, in harmony, a better world, united in Peace.<\/p>\n<p>This in no way injures the interest of any; on the contrary, is serves the creative spirit for the purpose of achieving Universal Peace.<\/p>\n<p>It is important to clarify that the International Peace Banner represents no ideology, political interest, creed, nor religion.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: .5em 0 .5em 0;text-align: center\"><strong>Dra.
