Presentation of the Banner of Peace to Guanajuato State, Mexico

I write these lines still feeling the big emotion that woke the Sacred Symbol of the Banner of Peace, in the ceremony of delivery to People and Government of Guanajuato in persons of the Governor Lic Juan Carlos Romero Hicks, his wife Frances, and 46 presidents of the DIF.

I remember clearly the eager and open eyes of all the children assistants who were remaining completely still, making no noise, the uncommon thing when there are hundreds of infants present, listening to the message.

The Governor was evidently pleasantly astonished, his wife Faffy vibrating with emotion in every pore.

Thousands of children adhered to our campaign ‘Together we construct the peace’, which already involves 250,000 persons in the state of Coahuila.

In the presidium, radiant of happiness, there was Guadalupe Morales de Martinez, honorary member of the International Committee of the Banner of Peace.

At the solemn sounds of drums and trumpets, I entered the beautiful open enclosure of the estate of San Gabriel of Barrier, made of high walls of stone, colouring bugambilias and sounding with singing fountains that soon were to lodge the Garden of the Banner of Peace, with a labyrinth of shrubs that should guide visitors in finding the peace.

47 flags of peace were flanking at my entry, rippling on their staffs.

The words of the initiator of the Banner of Peace, Nicolas Roerich, by means of my own voice, was lighting the flame of love in every heart present, towards all the men, close or distant.

The Governor resolutely accepted the Banner of Peace, with a resounding ‘Yes, I accept it in name of the people and Government of Guanajuato’. Then the 47 Presidents of the Institution for the Family Protection (DIF) waved their Banners, with the promise to labour for peace for the sake of all children of the State.

Suddenly the representatives of the press reached their thrilling hands, receiving the hug of peace, transmitting it to thousands of readers.

Another seed of peace was sowed, and ‘it will come to fruition of it, we are sure, since big intelligence and generous hearts have already taken charge of it.’ N:R.
